A perfect romantic weekend would be a weekend stay at the Irish Hollow, a country inn/B&B outside of Galena, IL. A truly top-drawer inn in every respect, the Irish Hollow prides themselves on being the premier romantic country inn in the midwest. Every room and cottage comes with a four poster bed, a hot tub, romantic lighting etc. You won't want to leave the room!

However, you will leave the room to eat the innkeepers' fantastic food. All three gentlemen who run the inn are trained chefs, and they cook breakfast daily and dinner on Saturday nights. All food is organic and locally grown, and delicious! All food is served in the main lodge, which is an old converted train station from the 1800's. Very cool in every respect.

Galena offers shopping, antiques, fine dining, skiing, and outdoor activities to those who like to leave their room during the day. However, the inn is so nice that you may not want to ever leave.
